Selection Process and Exam Pattern
1. Computer-Based Test (CBT)
Multiple-choice questions with no negative marking. Principal and Vice-Principal papers: 150 questions for 150 marks in 2 hours 30 minutes, covering General English, General Hindi, General Reasoning, General Knowledge, Basic Computer Literacy, Numerical Ability, learner and teaching-learning sections, school organisation and leadership, and Management, Supervision and Leadership plus Administration and Finance. PGT, TGT, Librarian, PRT, PRT (Music) and Balvatika Teacher papers: 120 questions for 120 marks in 2 hours, covering General English, General Hindi, General Reasoning, General Knowledge, Basic Computer Literacy, Numerical Ability, Teaching Methodology (15 marks) and the Concerned Subject (75 marks). Minimum qualifying marks in the CBT are 60% for UR and EWS candidates and 54% for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD candidates. Merely qualifying does not guarantee a call for the next stage; shortlisting is by merit and the number of vacancies.
2. Interview (Principal and Vice-Principal) or Skill Test (other posts)
Shortlisted Principal and Vice-Principal candidates appear for an interview. Shortlisted PGT, TGT, Librarian, PRT, PRT (Music) and Balvatika Teacher candidates appear for a qualifying skill test. For Principal and Vice-Principal posts, the final merit list carries 50% weightage for the CBT and 50% for the interview.
3. Document Verification
Candidates shortlisted after the interview or skill test are called for document verification, where original certificates, CTET certificates where required, and experience documents are checked.
4. Medical Examination
Candidates who clear document verification undergo a medical examination before final appointment.
